Special activities in Ngo boat racing festival

The festival includes main activities such as: Opening ceremony with the name "Moon and Paddy"; Boat Racing Contest with about 80 teams from the provinces in the Mekong Delta as Soc Trang, Can Tho, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Vinh Long. The teams contest in two types: 1200meters for men, 1000meters for women. Also, the festival has combined activities as: Trade Fair and Expo including: Exhibition of economic achievements, Exhibiton of  improvement models in agricultural and aquacultural production associated with life of ethnics, especially of Khmer ethnic; Cuisine Festival in three ethnics :Kinh - Chinese - Khmer; Folk Games; Costume Contest of three ethnics,etc.

The festival is the event to create unique cultural product serving in tourism development, both associating with conserving, keeping and promoting the unique traditional values of the local. It is also a place where to honor unique cultural heritages of Khmer ethnic in Soc Trang in particular and the South in general, to help people raise awareness of cultural heritage preservation, to express solidarity of ethnic groups, to arouse pride, love for the country.
