Lam Kinh Festival - the festival to honor a great general

On August 22th of Lunar Calendar at Le King Shrine, Xuan Lam commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province; Bo Ve Shrine, Dong Ve district, Thanh Hoa province, Lam Kinh Festival is held to remmember Le Thai To (Le Loi) who is a hero of Le dynasty.

In the history of the national liberation struggle, the Lam Son uprising was initiated by Le Loi in the 15th century, it is regarded as the symbol of the spirit to endure arduous , prolonged resistance , overcome difficult to win aggressor many times more powerful. To honor the merit of Le Thai To King, the people here organize the festival every year.
Lam Kinh Festival is held in Lam Kinh area of Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province, where Lam Kinh shrine and Le King's Tomb are situated. At Muc Son ferry, in front of the tomb, now belonging to Xuan Lam, there is a small shrine that is the shrine of Le Thai To King. In the past, the mandarins of Le dynasty organized death anniversary every there years but the local people open the annual memorial festival to remember the hero in the shrine.
In addition to incense offering ceremony as other festivals, Lam Kinh Festival has also a dancing follow the tune "ri ren" ( a folk tune) and other shows. Every young couple holding hands both dance and sing. The festival has also a majesty and attractive drumming.
