Adventure Tourism to Son Doong Cave increase

Oxalis International Travel Company, the unit allowed to test mining adventure tourism in the world's largest cave, Son Doong, said,  international visitors book tour to the cave are very crowded and closed in 2014.


Son Doong cave is located in the population of Phong Nha - Ke Bang cave, situated in Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province. Son Doong cave was announced as the largest cave in the world by the Cave  Association of British Royal, with the width of the cave door is 150 meters, the height of 200 meters, the length of at least 5 kilometers.


According to statistic, the end of 2014, there were more than 400 registered visitors to Son Doong cave. Meanwhile, People's Committee of Quang Binh province only allows to exploit tour to the cave 4 tours each month with the number of visitors in not more than 224 people. So,  the number of tourists have to move into the next year and the number of registrated tourists are closed until 2016 .


Currently, the company is proposing the People's Committee of Quang Binh province early evaluating the results of the test tour in the last month to officially put into operation in 2014 , in order to avoid interrupting the tour during the peak season ( summer months ) . According to expert of the Cave Association of British Royal, Mr. Howard Limbert who built the discovery Son Doong cave program said, adventure tourism is only for those who have good heath, no heart disease, high blood pressure,etc. So, many people are not eligible to the cave. The cost for the tour to Son Doong cave is currently $ 3,000 / person .
