This is the first time that visitors have the opportunity to see a folk festival which is very attractive and interesting of Bay Nui area (An Giang province) right in Hanoi.
Bay Nui cow racing festival is one of festivals which are held in Tet Don-ta (an opportunity to worship ancestors) of Khmer ethnic in the South. It take place from 8/29 to 9/1 in Lunar Calendar. Since 1990, Tet Don-ta and Bay Nui cow racing festival in An Giang province are alternately held at Thamit pagoda, Vinh Trung commune, Tinh Bien district and Ta Miet pagoda, Tri Ton district. Gradually, Cow Racing Festival has been upgraded and become a unique product of the tourism festival of the local. Recently, the festival has attracted cow racing teams of the districts in An Giang, some teams in other locals and many tourists.

In 2013, this is the first time that the festival has been recreated in the Tourism - Culture Village of ethnic groups in Son Tay, Hanoi. This is an activity within the week of " Great Solidarity Ethnic Groups - Vietnam Cultural Heritage" which will be taken place from 11/18 - 24/11/2013. Accordingly , there will be 6 teams joining in fierce races, requiring ingenuity and courage. These are teams from An Giang after competing at Bay Nui cow racing festival on the occasion of Tet Don-ta taking place on 10/4/2013. The festival is the characteristic culture and the highlight point of the Week. It is a good opportunity for those who like races, speed, cow or exploring new things.
