Skiing in the waterfall at the foot of Bach Ma mountain, an interesting Vietnam destination

You will have an enjoyable holiday when traveling to Truot waterfall (Khe Su village, Loc Tri commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien -Hue province). From Hue city, along Highway 1 to the south, about 45 minutes by motorbike, you can come to Phu Loc town, then turn right to go to 15 minutes to get the Truot waterfall.

Water skiing in the forest

The Truot waterfall is located right in the buffer zone of Bach Ma National Park, at the foot of a high mountain with a height of 1.500 meters, between the lush jungle. A row of huts surrounds large lake which is located in the middle of the stream where to rest, a few huts is along the stream. We chose a hut with wooden floor, just about 40 centimeters from water surface to rest. We put off fixtures and swam in the cool and pellucid lake.


Called " Truot waterfall" because of a large rock in the middle of the waterfall where the water eroded into a natural water chute.
Thin layer of moss has clung for many years, made both smoothness for the chute and massage function for back. From on high, everyone in the group was waiting to turn and ski follow the water. The feeling is adventurous, euphoria and hard to explain.



After playing waterfall skiing, every one went back to the stream and went into the depth of the forest, the world of rocks and roots with many shapes. In large puddles, there were swarms of colorful fish. When the group were tired, we went back to the hut, the restaurant owner had also served grilled chicken, sticky rice, tasty grilled fish and so on. After the meal, every one slept in the fresh air, the sound of trickling water flowing underneath created a pleasant feeling

Interesting nature

After a nap, the whole group prepared to go back to the top of the Thuy Dien waterfall in the upstream of Truot waterfall. The name Thuy Dien" began in the late 1970s, when a mini hydroelectric plant was built to carry water to run a generator below.

Road to the top of the waterfall is winding, sometimes going through overgrown thorn bushes. Everyone walked slowly because a man took photos plants and insects with his passion. It's true! because Bach Ma National Park has nearly 900 species of insects, which is the most diverse with 310 species of Lepidoptera. The most beautiful is the world of dozens of colorful butterflies.


Half an hour through the forest, we heard the sound of water and the Thuy Dien watefall appeared in front of our eyes. We did not feel tired anymore. Leaving the waterfall, we came back to Hue in the late afternoon, we went to a restaurant at the foot of Mui Ne Pass. The brackish water fish or shrimp of lagoon were fresh and very attractive.
