Opening the G tower at My Son Relic

On June 22, My Son relic area which is World Cultural Heritage, it will open to welcome visitors to G tower after many years of conservation, restoration and open showroom of G tower's conservation outcomes .


The conservation of G tower group was begun in 1999, until now, it has come through more than 14 years of restoration and renovation.14 years, especially since 2004 to now, under the participation of the UNESCO experts, Italy, Conservation of Monuments Institute, People's Committee of Quang Nam province, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province,
My Son Monuments and Tourism Management, the project is deployed with a rigorous process and also very expensive, but it have obtained many positive results. Until now, the G tower has been returned to some part of the original appearance.

During the process of restoration, archaeological excavations, archaeological experts have discovered many values of a tower group which is considered as unique and original form for the proposed architecture and the Champa decorative art. The fragments, artifacts have been collected, preserved and arranged in the showroom. And so, you will have the opportunity to be introduced and admired a complete picture of the process of artistic creation, the construction techniques of Champa art.

The showroom of G tower's conservation outcomes is also spent to introduce of collaborative work process of experts, researchers and technical staff, skilled workers. Their experiences have been drawn through the book "Guidance on conservation and restoration of the G tower group at My Son."

In occasion of Quang Nam Heritage Festival 5th -2013, tourists visit My Son relic area and Hoi An ancient town will take free ticket from June 21 - 22.
