Located among acres of flooded land of Dong Thap Muoi, Tram Chim Tam Nong has a natural area of 7.612 hectares, of Dong Thap province. After the planning time, be developed and expanded, by early 1999, where was officially recognized Tram Chim National Park by Vietnam goverment.
It has a beautiful natural landscape with vast river, melaleuca forest and rich flora with over 130 different species.
The Land " six months of dry field and six months of water" is also habitat of hundreds of species of vertebrates, dozens of species of fish and over 198 species of birds, about one quarter of the bird species found in Vietnam.
In the wet season from August to November, running around " tac rang" river, you will feel all the beauty that nature has bestowed this place, spreading out in front of our eyes are many animals such as: eels, snakes, turtles, boa, fish and birds: stork, herons, wild ducks,etc. Among them, there are many species of rare birds in the world such as: white-winged, yellow te, pelicans and especially red-headed crane. They are classified as animals need to be protected as endangered in the world.
Every year, from late December to early May, that time for flocks of crane fly to Tram Chim to reside. Come here on that time, you will see flocks of red-headed crane and other birds fly to look for food - an amazing spectacle. Many cranes tall nearly 2meters, gray silky fur, legs and high neck, wings outstretched when flying. They gathered in the fields to eat, fly, batwing as dancing, funny sounds. Surely you will be attracted to the rhythm of the crane flock with beautiful scenery in the sunset .
Thus, the name "Tram Chim" has long been familiar with the press and many international organizations. There were many foreign delegations to visit Tram Chim. Do you want to be next?.
Presently, Tram Chim National Park was invested, upgraded and expanded a nature museum, an attractive center for eco-tourism by Vietnam goverment. Many international nature conservation organizations also funded to maintain and protect Vietnam's Tram Chim.
