With slogan "Be a little ambassador of
Hanoi", each member of the Hanoi Kids has consciousness as young ambassadors introduce to foreign visitors about Hanoi. Many guests has become friends of the kid after trip.
On 05/25/2006, 10 young people of Hanoi who enjoy learning English established a group leads tourists.
The idea was born after the story of a young person's nickname Xubu had posted in forum to share that she succeeded in persuading 2 Canadians to let her do free travel guide for them. Initially, HanoiKids was called HanoiFriends, later, it changed and it has the name like now. You can look for feedback about Hanoi on TripAdvisor.

We had a wonderful day with our guide Dat from Hanoi kids. We walked a short distance from our hotel to a traditional heritage house in the Old Quarter and we wandered around as he explained many things about it to us. It was something we probably wouldn’t have gone into by ourselves but we thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt something about the architecture and style of that time. We then walked up to Hoan Kiem Lake and had a look at the red bridge and Ngoc Son Temple. Dat rang up for a taxi which we took to the Temple of Literature. This was a lovely place, we enjoyed walking around the gardens and the temple, and we learnt more by having Dat explaining things and answering our questions.
There were graduating university students there at the same time, we chatted to one of them and took some photos with him as well. We then caught a taxi back to a restaurant in the Old Quarter where we had a delicious meal, Dat helped us choose some dishes which we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. We finished at our hotel about 1pm. We paid for entrance fees, taxis and food, all up we probably spent about $25 for the time. We really enjoyed interacting with Dat, and learnt a lot not only about the attractions we saw, but life in Hanoi and Vietnam in general. Many thanks to Hanoi Kids, keep up the great work!

Yen and Hung of Hanoi Kids are the BEST. We did the whole day tour last March 27. They assisted us in every way, from money exchange, site tours, taxi directions and even bargaining when we shopped in the old quarter. They gave us in depth knowledge on Ho Chi Minh Complex, Presidential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda, Museum of Ethnology. They recommended Quan An Ngon Restaurant which offered good food and good atmosphere.

One of the highlights of our trip and what a wonderful and interesting person to spend the day with. Our guide was Hien who was a university student in her fourth year of study. Her English was superb, and only starting to learn a year before you get to understand the importance in the tours from the perspective of the tour guides who voluntarily do this to improve their language skills. She really made the entire day very enjoyable.
The places we visited were very interesting, managing to see a number of the must see places in Hanoi with a delicious egg coffee when the heat got too much and a great place to have lunch on the recommendation of Hien. Definitely highly recommended as the first thing to arrange for when you arrive in Hanoi the scenery the history and the company of your tour guide are excellent. A very enjoyable day and many many thanks to Hien.
Certainly, you wonder why Hanoi Kids free service to do this, it is because of his passion for languages, they want to communicate, chat with people who speak English, and learn a lot from foreigners. Is one simple reason, right?
