Lai Chau is a border province in the northwest area of Vietnam, it has 20ethnics, each ethnic has its own definition of traditional cultural life and fair is a place expressing the specific culture. It is a ideal place with various type of tourism such as: eco- tourism ,adventure tourism and resort.
Located in the northwest of Vietnam, the north bordering the People's Republic of China, the west and southwest bordering Dien Bien province, the east bordering Lao Cai province, the southeast bordering Yen Bai province and the south bordering Son La province. It is situated 450km from Hanoi to the northwest, Lai Chau has a humid subtropical climate, four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
With the natural area spreads and diverse terrain, these things has made Lai Chau a potential for rich and attractive nature tourism, a basis for the development of various type such as: eco- tourism ,adventure tourism, resort, etc. The mountains run along the northwest - southeast, there are many mountains which has a height of 1700m such as: Pu Ta Tong with the height of 2109m, Pu Sa Leng: 3096m in the areas: Phan Xi Pang, Pu Sam Cap, Ta Tong and so on. They are very suitable with adventure tourism. The hills: Sin Ho, Ho Thua, Dao Sam are the ideal places for eco- tourism and resort. If you feel not well, you can feel better when soaking in hot spings here such as: Muong So, Vang Bo, Na Don, Tien Binh, Na Dong, Then Sin, Vang Bo, Muong Khoa, Pac Ma,etc. If you want to see the mystery of night in daylight, you can come to caves here such as: Huong Son, Tien Son, Tham Cung, Nam Tun, Ong Tien, Hua Bum, Che Bo,etc. If you are interested in history, you can visit Deo Van Long Mansion, Le Loi Tomb, Nam Pe Relic, Nam Tun Relic.
Being a land rich in ethnic, so Lai Chau has many festivals for you to watch or join such as: Nang Han festival, Kin Pang festival, Han Khuong ceremony, Hoa Ban festival, Com Moi festival, Gau Tao festival, La Hu festival, Xen Muong festival, Bun Voc Nam festival, and so many other festivals that I have known yet. Of course, there are many performances in the festivals such as: spreading dance, sword dance, dance with stick, singing,etc.
In addition to beautful sites, people making you remember the land which you have come, food also makes you remember the land, specifically, it is the flavor of the land. I am talking about the specialties of Lai Chau, it has weird dishes that I am sure you will not forget the land. It can be listed some dishes such as: sour fish, corn wine, honey, cooked rice in stick, mossy on rock, pig in armpit, pork hanging, buffalo meat hanging, etc.
