Tre Ba De - a specialty of Da Nang

Tre Ba De is a sour and spicy dish, a sipping dish for many people, especially men. It is a special dish in the Central in general, Da Nang in particular. When you eat the dish for the first time, I am sure you will remember forever.
Ba De (Mrs. De) who is Dang Thi Kim Lien, she married Mr. Mai De in Da Nang city. Then, he died and left her five daughters, one son and a fosterchild. She lived and made Tre at 81 Hai Phong street, Da Nang city. She made rolls and tre as her career from 1956 to 1990, then, she taugh for her first daughter who is Mai Thi Thu Thao, known as Mrs. Nghia. And, the business has still been developed up to now.
Tre Ba De is made from lean and bacon, they are sliced thin and mixed with spices: sugar, salt, garlic and wrapped, brewed about 2- 3 days to ferment. To increase the taste of the dish, it is served with chili sauce, papaya, peanut, garlic,sliced galangal,etc. It is used as an appetizer for meals. Trẻ is not only famous in Da Nang but also in the Central and through out Vietnam.
