Thanh Tien village was recognized as a traditional village by Hue People's Committee with craft "making flower by paper".

Located at Phu Mau commune, Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue province, Thanh Tien village has 300 years old with the craft "making flower by paper" for worship and traditional flowers such as: lotus, lily, chrysanthemum and so on. With skilled hands, people here has blown their soul into flowers, turned them into great works, like real flowers.
As I know, the craft was begun from folk belief. Paper flowers were decorated in places of worship, paper flowers were replaced once, in Tet. Nowadays, with the creation and skilled hands of villagers,the art of making paper flowers has developed more diversity with many flowers and other decorative purposes.
Currently, there are about 100 households in Thanh Tien village, making paper flowers to server for needs of those who love flower not only in Vietnam but also in foreign coutries. Or simply, coming here and experience. Maybe, you will realize your skill in making paper flowers.
