Five famous passes in Vietnam

With hilly terrain, S-shaped country creating beautiful passes. Sometimes, traveling to Vietnam and passing roads of Vietnam, you can encounter some passes, may be you don't realise their beauty.


So, after reading this post, if passing any passes, you should take a few moments to view the beauty of pass that you cross. Or, you want to see longer, you can come there and admire all day as long as you want. Besides, if you're feeling adventurous, those place are ideal places for you to discover.

1. Hai Van Pass

Stretching Hai Van mountain is Hai Van Pass, about 20 km, linking two provinces :Thua Thien - Hue and Da Nang. Hai Van Pass is like soft silk traversing the vast and majestic mountain. Hai Van Mountain is the highest mountain shielding for provinces from Da Nang, so the south is warmer. It has a height of 500m, you can see Lang Co fishing village in the north and the entire scene of Da Nang city to the south.


From past to now, Hai Van is always inspiration for poets, artists, photographers in the country as well as foreigners.

2. Pha Din Pass

As Hai Van Pass, Pha Din connects two provinces, but the other provinces, they are Son La –Dien Bien, with a length of 32km, one of the longest mountain pass in Vietnam.


Pha Din means sky and earth, the pass has a height of 1000m above the sea. Road of the pass is winding, zigzag and wanderous, one side is cliff, the other is abyss. Pha Din Pass is quite dangerous, but depending on this, you can see how brave you are. Any way, be careful.

3. Cu Mong Pass.

Cu Mong Pass is a short pass but it is rather dangerous. The pass is located on Highway 1A, it is the boundary between the province of Binh Dinh - Phu Yen, a length of 7km, a height of 245m. The road has many steeps, the two sides are high mountains. According to some documents, Cu Mong Pass is the border of the two countries Vietnam and Champa near the end of the 15th century.


Legend of Cu Mong Pass has kept until now, beacause the mountain stretches from An Khe plateau to the sea, like a dragon lying prostrate that the head starts from Xuan Loc to Ganh Rang, the tail holds Ngoc Linh.

4. Ngang Pass

Ngang Pass is also known as Hoanh Son Quan, located in Ky Nam commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province, 75km from Ha Tinh city to the south. Ngang Pass is situated on Highway 1A, connecting between Ha Tinh province and Quang Binh province. Landscape of the pass is majestic, at the foot of the pass is beautiful beaches but you shouldn't jump from the pass. It's joke!.


With natural beauty, along with the harrowing and heroic events of thousands of years of history, Ngang Pass is the famous sight and important role in forming the climate of South ,Vietnam. Besides, you not only discover the pass but also ancient shrines. Enjoy!!!.

5. Ngoan Muc Pass (Spectacular Pass)

I think you can guess this pass has many spectacular things. Ngoan Muc Pass is known as Song Pha Pass, one of the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam. Located on the territory of Ninh Thuan province. Ngoan Muc Pass was cleared from the late 19th century, it called Bellevue at that time. The pass has a lenght of 980m, average slope of 9 degrees, four elbow bends, winding road through large and small hills, romantic scenery.
