Duong Lam - the first ancient Vietnamese village

Duong Lam is a commune in Son Tay city, Hanoi. Duong Lam became the first ancient Vietnamese village. Located about 50kilometers from Hanoi, easy to travel. Come to Duong Lam, you can walk yourself to

Duong Lam consists of 9 villages, in which 5 villages: Mong Phu, Dong Sang, Cam Thinh, Doai Giap and Cam Lam contiguous.
The villages linked together into a unified whole with the customs, practices, and beliefs for thousands of years has not changed.


Nowadays, Duong Lam has still kept most of the basic characteristics of a Vietnamese village with gate, banyan trees, water wells, court house, pagodas, temples, water stations, fields, hills. Duong Lam that is famous for the ancient system was built with laterite - available materials excavated from the ground in this area. The houses, gate, water wells often are built with laterite. So, it can be said that: the main raw materials to build here is laterite


In Duong Lam, there are the ancient houses was built over 200 years. The oldest houses such as: the house of the Ha Van Lam, Ha Nguyen Huyen Cao Van Toan, Vu Thi Am. You can also easily come to the household to visit because the people here are very hospitable.
