Bargaining is not common in some countries, but it is really necessary in Vietnam. In Vietnam, bargaining is always worth, it is a part of the Vietnamese culture through communication between bargainer with others and it is build relationships between buyers and sellers. That's true, some people take all their time to bargain, most foreigners find it difficult to bargain even though they know the real price. However, for the restaurants listed on the table or on the menu, you will not have to bargain because it is a fixed price.
To better deal in Vietnam, you have to take a look at some tips:
1, One important thing that you have to remember to win the deal: you have to do this with humor. So, you consider the bargain as a game or a recreational activity and enjoy it. If you are a foreigner, using the words in the bargain is not easy for you to convince them to reduce the price. Most locals do not speak English well. Therefore, your last way is smile and friendliness.
2, You should not bargain with the first who approaches you for some reason: First, the first salesperson often quote the highest price, at that time, you don't know the prices of thing to bargain. Second, you go further, you may be offered a better deal by others and you have the opportunity to compare the different prices.
3, Walking away is a useful bargaining tool that you should not forget: If they call you, you can come back and not be arrogant, see the price is appropriate or not, however, do not be so excited, most likely you will have to bargain again.
4, You have to bargain by Vietnamese cash intead of USD or the currency of your country: In Vietnam, they belive that those who have dollar that are the rich and
