You like beach, you like swimming. But, when you get cramp, you will panic and it reduces swimming ability or more seriously can cause drowning. So, what should you do?
- If your abdominal muscle get cramp, you must be calm down, relax your body, and spread arms and legs out, breath deeply and slowly, gently massage the cramp area then get help somebody.
- When you get cramp in other muscles, you need to find way to go shore or go to shallow waters, then do it by yourself or get some helps from anyone in the following ways:
+ Cramp in leg(s): sit down, pull straight leg(s), lift your heel(s) and press knee(s) down at the same time.
+ Cramp in calf muscle(s) (most common): try to stand up, pull straight leg(s), stand by heel(s) and toes to help the calve relax.
You can call someone to help by holding leg straight up and push fingers toward knee.
Remember: if you are not able to swim to shore, the more you panic, the more you go to the bottom of the sea quickly. So, there is not big waves, you must leave your body float and wait for people to save. When rasing hand to get help, just one hand, you have to keep body float by another hand. When you cured or be cured cramp, you shouldn't try to swim again, take a break and go swimming the next day. I wish you would not get cramp when swimming.
