Xuan Thuy National Park - the 50th mangrove forests of the world

Xuan Thuy National Park is a mangrove forest of Red River Delta Biosphere Reserve. This is the first mangrove forest in Vietnam was internationally recognized by the Ramsar Convention, the 50th mangrove forests of the world.


Xuan Thuy about 160kilometers from Hanoi, an interesting eco-tourist destination for those who prefer to explore the lives of migratory birds and the wild life.
Xuan Thuy National Park has 120 species of vascular plants, including 20 species adapted to wet conditions, constituting thousands of hectares of mangroves. This forests contribute fixed sediment to create new mudflats, nursery and provide food for aquatic animals, and play a role in the ecological balance of the region. 111 species of phytoplankton, many algal species have high economic value such as "cau chi vang algae".

Avifauna have listed 220 species belonging to 13 sets. Every year from October, November to March, April of next year, tens of thousands of migratory birds from Northern avoid cold chose Xuan Thuy National Park as a place to stop for food, accumulating energy for long migratory journey of a thousand trees themselves.
This place frequently recorded species of rare water birds in the International Red Book, typically, China White Stork, the black ibis, Platalea minor, short-beaked gull, gray pelican legs,etc.
