The seal ceremony of Tran Temple in Nam Dinh City

On the beginning of January in Lunar calendar, the seal ceremony of Tran temple is a crowded and bustling festival not only people of Nam Dinh attend but also numerous tourists from everywhere.








The seal ceremony begins at 10:30PM in Phủ Thiên Trường( governer of the province where the capital was located) Tran temple, Lộc Vượng ward, Nam Định city on January 14th Lunar year. This is a festival with great significance and promote the tradition of building, defending of Vietnamese. The festival is also an opportunity to honor the merit of ancestors that was the 13 Tran kings and Tran Quoc Tuan great king. Not only that, The seal ceremony of Tran temple is contribute to the conservation of cultural heritage value;
propagate and educate patriotism, spirit against aggressors of Vietnamese ; encourage majority of all classes of people to promote traditional, morality: " drinking water, remember its source";  remind everyone works and strives to do a good job in new year




Right from the 7 AM on 14th lunar month, Tran temple was crowded, bustling with thousands of pilgrims to feast. According to estimates by the organizer,  the number of people on the ceremony of this year up to approximately 15 thousand people.
A fun and noise atmosphere of the festival insteads of quite of Thiên Trường shrine and daily quiet air but still maintains decent and dignified.


Exactly 7:30 PM, the organizer started to welcome delegates to attend and prepared for the take seal ceremony. the take seal ceremony begin from Cổ Trạch shrine by 14 old men. Cổ Trạch shrine is located on  relic population of Tran temple where is place of woship Quốc Công Tiết Chế Hưng Đạo Đại Vương Trần Quốc Tuấn (Tran Quoc Tuan great king), his family and the minister who trusted. The life and career of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan is written up as epic 3rd in the war against the Nguyen Mong of Tran dynasty (1288). Cố Trạch shrine was built next to Thiên Trường shrine where is place of worship 13 Tran kings and Tran Quoc Tuan great king.



Opening speech of the ceremony is spoken by President of People's Committees of Nam Dinh city .
The temple level rose petition and invited leadership" opening the seal" at Thien Truong shrine. 14 old men, 9 leaders of Communist Party, State, Province and Nam Dinh city perform opening the seal ceremony . Mr. Huỳnh Ngọc Sơn - Vice President of the National Assembly on behalf of Communist Party, State seal first set.



Tourists from everywhere those who  would like to get a seal to take home to get lucky and spiritual beliefs in the new year. according to Mr Nguyễn Xuân Năm,  Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism Service in Nam Dinh province. The seal ceremony of Tran Temple at giờ Tý on full moon in January of lunar calendar( from 11PM on 14th lunar calendar to 1AM on 15th lunar calendar), the ceremony is a cultural customs and habits that expresses respect and gratitude to ancestors.
